Updates

The start of Bike Month has been a little dreary and wet, but don't let that stop you from getting out and participating in some Bike Month activities!

Bike Month 2016 is here and we can't wait to see how you celebrate! This year as part of our celebrations, BikeRaleigh will be holding two contests- one on Instagram and one on Twitter! Winners will be announced and prizes will be given away at our BikeRaleigh Forum, Wednesday, May 25th!

Over the next few weeks we will be highlighting the bike facilities commonly seen around Raleigh. Today we'll be covering Buffered Bike Lanes. "Bike facilities" are a catch all category for the markings and places bicyclists ride. It is important for motorists and bicyclists to know what to do when they approach each facility to ensure a safe commute for all.

If you missed our previous Bike Facilities post, click here to learn more about Sharrows. We will be continuing our bike facilities posts throughout the rest of April leading up to Bike Month in May. The term bike facilities is a broad title that represents the markings and places bicyclists ride. This information is important for both motorists and bicyclists to provide a safe commute for all.

Bike Month is quickly approaching, and there are some events coming up in April to kick off the festivities early!
